Man makes phony bomb claim to stop Filipina wife from returning home

The man who was arrested in India for making a hoax bomb claim said that he did it to stop his Filipina wife from returning to the Philippines on Saturday, September 8.

The man, identified as Wasim Qureshi, called airport authorities telling them a phony bomb threat that he planted an explosive inside a Singapore Airlines flight which would bring his wife home to the Philippines via Singapore.

Following the call, the police scanned all baggages to find the alleged bomb, to no avail, reported The Times of India.

The flight was delayed for five hours.

He was later arrested after his number was tracked.

Investigation showed that the couple, who met in Dubai two years ago, was having problems and fought often which led the Filipina to return to her family in the Philippines.

Her husband, however, wanted to stop her from leaving the country thus making the false bomb claim in hopes of having the flight cancelled.
