President Rodrigo Duterte signed two labor deals with Jordan during his state visit to intensify the protection of overseas Filipino workers.
Aside from the protection of OFWs, the labor deals will also cover better working conditions for the OFWs in Jordan, as well as proper procedures in recruiting and deploying Filipino service household workers.
During his visit, Duterte and Jordan’s King His Majesty Abdullah bin Al-Hussein also talked about the problems of undocumented Filipinos there.
Duterte also signed foreign affairs and trade deals aside from the labor agreements.
Jordan said that they will provide help to the Philippines by donating two attack helicopters and other military equipments.
Before he left the country, Duterte also visited the Filipino community in Jordan on September 7.
On Saturday, President Duterte has returned to the Philippines, and has landed in Davao City after his state visit in the Middle East.
