Davao Int’l Airport modernization to begin next year

The National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) on Thursday, September 6, revealed that the renovation and modernization of the Davao International Airport is set to begin next year.

The Php40.57 billion modernization project includes improvement of comfort rooms and the construction of parallel taxiways in the airport.

Expansion and modernization of the main building of the terminal, including its parking areas, is also included in the six-year project, reported the Manila Bulletin.

The budget also includes the detailed “engineering design and environmental impact assessment study for Davao Airport Project” and the acquisition of the land where the new airport will be built.

The modernization program seeks to improve services offered to passengers to give them a better transport experience.

The upgrade of the airport is one of the 17 projects in Davao under the Build, Build, Build program of the Duterte administration.
