Bantay Bata 163 relaunches Children’s Village for victims of abuse

Bantay Bata 163 is relaunching its Children’s Village program to home minors who have undergone trauma and abuse. First launched in 2003, the village was home to thousands of recovering distressed children.

The program director, Jing Castaneda-Velasco said that the village is now equipped to provide for at least 120 children. They will undergo therapy through a structured environment surrounded by social workers, professionals and house parents to look after them.

Among the improvements in the village complex are an administrative building, multi-purpose hall and cottages. It will also have a kindergarten play-area, a meditation room, music room, arts and crafts room, and library.

Meanwhile, older children will be prepared to be productive members of society through the Resilience Program, Productivity Skills Training and Livelihood Development Program, reported Bandera.

The foundation aims to build a better future for the children through the Children’s Village which is located in Narzagaray, Bulacan.
