Bong Go leads senatorial race survey

Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Bong Go is the number one choice for senator among Davaoeños, according to a survey conducted by University of Mindanao’s Institute of Popular Opinion (UM-IPO) which was released on Saturday, August 18.

The survey showed that 76 percent of Davao City residents would vote for Go for senator, reported Inquirer.

With the results, Go thanked his hometown for the support. Despite being unsure of his senatorial run next year, Go said he was inspired by the support his fellow fellow Davaoeños are showing him.

“Malayo pa (ang 2019), pero thank you sa mga Davaoeños sa pagtitiwala ninyo sa amin, sa akin. Mas nakakataba ng puso. Lalo po kami magsisikap sa aming trabaho,” Go said in an interview.

Go, however, underscored that he is still unsure about running for a seat in the Senate. He added that only President Rodrigo Duterte could convince him to run.

Others who were included in the list were former Philippine National Police (PNP) director General Ronald ‘Bato’ dela Rosa, Senator Grace Poe, Taguig Rep. Pia Cayetano, Senator Sonny Angara, and Senator Aquilino Pimentel III.

Earlier, Go was sworn in as a member of the Mayor Sara Duterte’s regional political party, Hugpong ng Pagbabago.
