UAE waives visa fee for children under 18 years old

In an effort to promote family tourism, the United Arab Emirates cabinet announced that visa fee will be waived for children under 18 from July 15 to September 15 of each year.

The Cabinet’s decision aims to reduce the cost on visitors during the summer season and is expected to make the country a prime destination attracting more families.

The move is in line with the growth of the tourism sector in the country following the exemption of transit tourists from visa fees for the first 48 hours.

The Cabinet’s also decision reflects the UAE’s position in the global tourism sector. The number of passengers traveling through the country’s airports reached 32.8 million passengers during the first quarter of this year.

Visitors come to the UAE to enjoy the historical sites, hotel and tourism services, and a number of festivals and activities throughout the year.
