WATCH: 5 Filipino family members, including 4 children, killed in car crash

Five members of a Filipino family, including one adult and his four children, riding in a minivan were killed Friday afternoon, July 6, in a fatal crash on a highway in Townsend, Delaware.

Reports claim that among those killed were 61-year-old Audie Trinidad, and his four daughters – 20-year-old Kaitlyn, 17-year-old Danna, and two 14-year-olds, Melissa and Allison.

Mary Rose Ballocanag, the mother, survived the crash and is receiving medical treatment for her serious injuries.

Community members of the family’s hometown in Teaneck, New Jersey have gathered to mourn the death of the five members of the Filipino family, reported abc7.ny.com.

The Filipino American Society of Teaneck has also posted a message to mourn the loss.

“The Lord took too many angels from us yesterday. Audie, Kaitlyn, Dana, Allison, & Melissa Trinidad. Rest In Peace,” the post read.

A friend of the family, Linda Douglas, has also organized a GoFundMe page for Mary Rose.

“It is unknown at this time the amount of support this mother will need and we did not intend to set a limited goal. However, any assistance of any kind is greatly appreciated at this difficult time,” the page read.

Delaware State Police reported that the family’s vehicle was traversing the northbound lane of State Route 1 Highway (Rt. 1) around 3:47 in the afternoon when a 2007 Ford F-350 truck on the southbound lane “exited the roadway, crossing over the grassy-median and into the northbound lanes” crashing into the Filipino family’s 1998 Toyota Sienna car and a 2002 Mercury Sable car.

The driver and passenger of the truck were rushed to a hospital to receive treatment. They were later on released.
