WATCH: Man gropes female anchor during live broadcast of World Cup

A female reporter who was covering the World Cup in Moscow, Russia called out the man who groped and kissed her while she was on live broadcast.

The 21st installment of the FIFA World Cup is one of the biggest and most anticipated events in sports set to happen from June 14 to July 15 in Russia.

Colombian journalist Julieth Gonzalez Theran was simply reporting the events on the World Cup for the Spanish channel of the German news station, Deutsche Welle, when a man wearing a blue cap and jacket suddenly approached her, and snatched a kiss on her cheeks.

Knowing that she was live, Gonzalez Theran kept calm and decided to continue reporting as if nothing happened.

On Instagram, the news anchor shared a clip of the man’s indecent behavior and demanded respect. “We do not deserve this treatment. We are equally valuable and professionals. I share the joy of football, but we must identify the limits of affection and harassment,” Gonzalez Theran wrote in Spanish.

In an interview with Deutsche Welle’s Spanish news channel, Gonzalez Theran spoke up about the incident.

“I had been at the scene for two hours to prepare for the broadcast and there had been no interruptions. When we went live, this fan took advantage of the situation,” she said.

“Lots of people think that the reporter is only there to bring some color to the picture. But we want to talk about systems and strategy,” she continued.

This isn’t the first time a female sports reporter experienced harassment while doing live broadcast.

Just recently, Mexican journalist Maria Fernanda Mora claimed that she was groped repeatedly by a man while she was reporting for Fox Sports. She was on live broadcast when the man touched her butt twice. She then reacted by hitting the man with her microphone on live television.
