Mayweather reclaims top spot in Forbes list of highest-paid athletes

Boxing superstar Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather has regained his spot at Forbes’ annual list of the top 100 highest-paid athletes in the world.

According to Forbes Magazine, Mayweather snagged the top spot after earning $275 million following his boxing match with UFC star Conor McGregor who was ranked fourth in the list this year.

This is the fourth time in seven years that Mayweather topped the ranking.

The American boxer unseated Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo who dropped to third spot with $108 million. Meanwhile, Ronaldo’s long-time rival, Lionel Messi, docked $111 million, reported Forbes.

Mayweather, along with Ronaldo and Tiger Woods are the only three athletes who have bagged the top spot in top 100 list in the past 18 years.

Meanwhile, NBA stars dominated the Forbes list, with 40 players belonging to the top 100.
