Duterte says kissing his female supporters is his style

President Rodrigo Duterte said the kissing incident in South Korea that caused uproar earlier this week was only his style.

In a press conference Wednesday morning, Duterte said kissing his female supporters is his style and alleged his critics of being envious of his antics, reported GMA News.

“Style ko ‘yan eh, maghanap kayo ng ibang style ninyo,” Duterte said.

“Inggit lang ‘yan sila… smack. A simple kiss, you cause an uproar. Inggit lang yan sila. Sabihin mo sa kanila, palitan ang pustiso nila.”

Duterte said he has been doing the act since his campaign for mayorship in Davao City, to which her daughter Sara Duterte was a witness of.

The president also challenged his critics to ask his daughter if she was offended by his act.

“The logical answer is to ask my daughter if she was hurt,” said Duterte.

Duterte added that the kiss was not malicious saying he would not have done it if it were.

“We enjoyed it. I do not do it in public if there is malice,” Duterte explained.

The kissing incident that happened during Duterte’s visit to South Korea caused an uproar on social media and international media outlets.

Earlier, OFW Bea Kim, who was identified as the person Duterte kissed, clarified the kiss was not malicious and did not mean anything.

Kim said she is already married to a Korean man.
