OFW’s employment terminated after 14-year service, cries for help to go home

An overseas Filipina worker (OFW) is now asking for help to return to the Philippines after her employers failed to give her compensation for her 14-year stay with the family.

The OFW, named Corazon, said she never received any compensation during her 14 years of working overseas. When she asked her employers to pay her so she could go home to the Philippines, her employers refused and forced her to leave the house without their help.

“Pinalayas ako ngayon. Sabi niya, ‘lumayas ka di ako maghahatid sayo. Walang pera,” her employer said.

Corazon said she wanted to go home to Pikit, Cotabato City due to her illness.

“Ayaw akong pauwiin. May sakit naman ako eh. Masakit yung tiyan ko pati yung likod ko, pati yung katawan ko, pati mga braso ko,” the OFW said.

She added that prior to leaving her employer’s home, the employer attempted to take Corazon’s cellphone and passport.

She also cannot recall the name of her local recruitment agency as it has been more than a decade since she left the country.

Corazon said she already has a plane ticket to the Philippines. She is now seeking for financial help for her ticket to Cotabato.

No information as to what country the OFW works in has been provided in the Facebook post.
