Duterte appoints INC head Eduardo Manalo as new envoy for OFW concerns

President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Eduardo Villanueva Manalo, the Executive Minister of Iglesia ni Cristo, as his Special Envoy for Overseas Filipino Concerns.

Manalo’s appointment papers were officially signed on Tuesday, February 13.

His appointment as a Special Envoy for Overseas Filipino Concerns will be effective from January 30, 2018 until January 29, 2019.

Manalo, 62, is the eldest son of the late Erano Manalo and grandson of Felix Manalo.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the University of the Philippines-Diliman.

At one point, he became the deputy executive minister, coordinator of Metro Manila districts and the assistant dean ng Evangelical College (EVCO).

Manalo became the Executive Minister of Iglesia ni Cristo in September 2009.

It can be recalled that Iglesia ni Cristo also endorsed now President Duterte during his candidacy in the 2016 presidential elections.
