Sheikh Mohammed calls for Gulf unity in poem

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, called for unity in the region through a poem.

“Now, it is time to get united and be one heart and protect each other without any grudge or hatred,” the Vice President said in a poem titled “Al Dharb Wadeh (The Route is Wide and Clear)” published on his website and Instagram account.

His Highness also said that the UAE’s decision to cut its diplomatic ties with Qatar seeks to “safeguard [the latter] from the fangs of wolves”.

“We will keep advising Qatar openly in line with the instructions of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), when he said in a prophetic Hadith (saying): A wolf eats only an out-of-the-way sheep,” the poem reads.

The poem came as a response to the move of Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Bahrain to cut ties with Qatar for allegedly supporting terrorist groups.
