A man was sentenced to two years in prison after posting a photo of him dangling a baby from the 15th-floor window of a high-rise building in Algeria. “1,000 likes or I will drop him,” read the caption of the photo.
Social media users demanded authorities to arrest the man for child abuse because the photo showed the child was in a state of fear, Gulf News reported.
The man was arrested on Sunday for endangering the baby’s lives.
However, the man claimed the balcony had protective bars but was edited by social media users to be viral, Ennahar TV reported.
The child’s father also appealed the man’s case because he was just playing a game.
The court did not consider father’s appeal because the child’s life was clearly in danger.
