Filipino gymnast Carlos Yulo will be receiving the Presidential medal from the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) this year.
In 2019, Yulo’s achievement in gymnastics captured the hearts of Filipinos worldwide.

He is the second Filipino to qualify in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Yulo made history when he won the gold in the men’s floor exercise of the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Stuttgart, Germany. He was the first Filipino and first male gymnast from Southeast Asia to claim a gold in the world stage.
Yulo also finished strong on his first Southeast Asian Games stint. He won two gold medals and five silver medals.

Yulo will be given the President’s Award during the SMC-Philippine Sportswriters Association Annual Awards Night on March 6 at the Centennial Hall of the Manila Hotel.
