Man protests shorts policy, wears dress at work

A call center employee in the U.K. was sent home to change clothes when he reported for work in shorts, but returned the next day wearing a dress in protest to the office’s dress code.

Joey Barge, 20, went to work in a smart navy shorts because of the heatwave in the country but was told by his boss that his outfit was inappropriate, according to Yahoo!

On the day he showed up wearing a colorful dress, the company’s management announced in an email that male employees “could now wear three-quarter length shorts in black, navy or beige”.

Barge considered his antics a “partial victory” against the company dress code, though he was asked if he could go home and change. He declined and finished the work day with the short dress on.

Barge tweeted a selfie wearing the pink, thigh-length dress and received praises from Twitter users for defending his right to wear shorts when suits would be uncomfortable due to the hot weather.
