Filipinos in Abu Dhabi to celebrate Philippine Independence Day on June 27

Filipinos across the United Arab Emirates are set to gather in Abu Dhabi on June 27 to commemorate the 128th Philippine Independence Day through Kalayaan 2026, a community celebration organized by the Bayanihan Council Abu Dhabi in partnership with the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi.

The event, carrying the theme “Celebrating Freedom, Unity, and Heritage—Together in Abu Dhabi,” will take place at Cleopatra Sports Academy in Al Mushrif from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Organizers said the day-long celebration will feature a variety of cultural and artistic performances highlighting Filipino talent, traditions, and heritage. Activities include choir performances, traditional dances, cultural presentations, and a martial arts exhibition.

An Art Exhibit and an On-the-Spot Photography Competition will also be held, providing participants with opportunities to showcase their creativity and capture memorable moments throughout the event.

Visitors can likewise explore the Kalayaan Market, where exhibitors and businesses will offer a range of food, products, and services.

Philippine Independence Day celebrations are observed annually by Filipino communities around the world as a way of honoring the country’s history and strengthening ties among overseas Filipinos.

Admission to Kalayaan 2026 is free and open to the public.
