First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos paid tribute to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Father’s Day, sharing a heartfelt message highlighting his role as a husband and father.
In a social media post on Sunday, the First Lady said that while their children call him “Pops” and the nation knows him as “Mr. President,” she considers herself fortunate to call him her own.
“Thank you for your strength, your patience, your terrible jokes and your big heart,” she wrote.
The First Lady added that life has become more meaningful because of their shared journey together.
“Life is sweeter, funnier and far more meaningful because I get to walk through it with you,” she said.
Accompanying the message was a lighthearted “executive order” addressed to the president.
The mock directive instructed Marcos to take the day off, postpone stressful meetings, and make dessert mandatory for Father’s Day.
“By virtue of our Executive Order, you are hereby directed to REST today,” the First Lady wrote.
The post drew reactions from supporters and social media users celebrating Father’s Day and highlighting the couple’s public display of affection.
Father’s Day is observed annually to recognize fathers and father figures for their contributions to their families and communities.
