Veteran actress Lotlot de Leon became emotional as she publicly called out her brother Ian de Leon over what she described as false claims regarding the legacy and supposed inheritance left by their mother, the late Superstar and National Artist Nora Aunor.
Speaking during the story conference of her upcoming film “40 Days,” Lotlot directly addressed Ian and denied allegations that she and their siblings, Matet, Kenneth, and Kiko, were interested in whatever properties Aunor had left behind.
Lotlot was referring to Ian’s recent interview on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” where he claimed that his siblings had been informed about plans to establish a one-person corporation (OPC) to manage Aunor’s legacy. The corporation is headed by Ian as the legal heir, while his adoptive siblings were allegedly excluded.
“Enough! Enough with the lies! Tahimik ako, tahimik si Matet, si Kiko at si Ken. Wala na kaming sinasabi, and then you go out on a TV show and tell everyone na sinabi mo sa amin [OPC], which is not true,” Lotlot said.
Fighting back tears, she said she was deeply hurt by Ian’s remarks, recalling how she had treated and cared for him as a brother, following the wishes of their mother.
Before speaking out, Lotlot apologized to “40 Days” director Louie Ignacio and her co-stars, including Dina Bonnevie, Snooky Serna, Elizabeth Oropesa, and Lloyd Samartino, for taking time during the event to address the controversy.
The eldest among Nora Aunor’s children with former partner Christopher de Leon, Lotlot revealed that she had approached Ian on the 40th day after their mother’s passing to discuss creating a corporation that would preserve Aunor’s legacy and continue her charitable efforts.
She also dismissed accusations that she and her adoptive siblings were after Aunor’s estate.
“Mana? Wala namang mana. Ang naiwan lang ay yung mga lupa sa Bicol… at kung mayroon man, sa kanya na lahat. Wala kaming hinihingi. He can have it all. Sapat na sa akin na matawag kong mommy si Nora Aunor, na mapalaki ng isang Superstar,” she said.
The remarks marked the first time Lotlot publicly addressed the reported rift among the siblings. She said her earlier silence, including a statement released through her lawyer, was intended to avoid worsening the situation.
