The Dubai Government Human Resources Department announced that the Eid Al Adha holiday for all Dubai government entities, departments, and institutions will begin on Monday, May 25, 2026, and run until Friday, May 29, 2026.
Regular working hours will resume on Monday, June 1, 2026.
The department said entities operating on a shift basis, as well as those handling customer services and public service facilities, may adjust working schedules based on operational requirements to ensure uninterrupted services during the holiday period.
In its statement, the department extended greetings to the UAE leadership, government, citizens, residents, and the wider Arab and Islamic world, expressing hopes for continued prosperity and wellbeing on the occasion of Eid Al Adha.
Meanwhile, authorities in Dubai are set to hold a public moon-sighting event for the Dhu Al Hijjah crescent on May 17, 2026.
According to Ibrahim Al Jarwan, chairman of the Emirates Astronomical Society and member of the Arab Union for Astronomy and Space Sciences, the new moon for Dhu Al Hijjah is expected to be born on Sunday, May 17, at 12:01 a.m. UAE time.
Eid Al Adha is observed on the 10th day of Dhu Al Hijjah, the final month of the Islamic lunar calendar.
Based on current astronomical calculations, the Day of Arafah is expected to fall on Tuesday, May 26, while Eid Al Adha celebrations are likely to begin at sunrise on Wednesday, May 27.
