The UAE Fuel Price Committee has announced higher retail fuel prices for May 2026, with petrol rates increasing across all categories.
Under the new pricing, Super 98 petrol will cost Dh3.66 per litre, up from Dh3.39 in April, while Special 95 petrol will rise to Dh3.55 per litre from Dh3.28. E-Plus petrol will also increase to Dh3.48 per litre from Dh3.20 last month.
Diesel prices, however, will remain unchanged.
The updated rates will take effect starting May 1, 2026, as part of the committee’s monthly review that aligns domestic fuel prices with global market movements.
With rising fuel costs expected to impact daily commuting expenses, experts such as the International Energy Agency recommend measures to reduce fuel consumption, including working from home when possible, lowering driving speeds, using public transport, and carpooling to cut costs.
