Pag-IBIG home loan releases rise 9% to ₱32.92B in Q1 2026

The Pag-IBIG Fund disbursed ₱32.92 billion in home loans in the first quarter of 2026, marking a 9% increase from ₱30.22 billion in the same period last year, as it continued to widen access to housing finance for Filipino workers.

From January to March, the agency financed 20,926 homes, up from 20,315 units in the first quarter of 2025. Socialized housing loans reached ₱2.95 billion, benefiting 3,439 households, an increase of 68% in loan value and 92% in the number of units compared to a year earlier, highlighting sustained efforts to support low-income members.

The increase comes amid recent site visits by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to housing projects funded by Pag-IBIG, where he inspected developments and engaged with new homeowners. The visits underscored the administration’s push to expand access to affordable housing under the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program.

Human Settlements and Urban Development Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling said the higher loan releases reflect progress in advancing the President’s directive to broaden homeownership while boosting economic activity through housing development.

“The efforts of the Marcos administration are bearing fruit. More Filipino workers are now gaining access to decent homes, and this is a clear step forward in fulfilling President Marcos’ directive to make homeownership within reach of more families,” he said.

Meanwhile, Pag-IBIG Fund Chief Executive Officer Marilene Acosta said the agency remains committed to helping members secure homes through affordable monthly payments while maintaining the fund’s financial strength.

“What the Pag-IBIG Housing Loan gives our members is a real chance to own a home through monthly payments that are often lower than rent. Instead of spending on rent, our members are able to make payments toward a home they can call their own,” Acosta said.

She also credited borrowers for maintaining good payment discipline, noting that their continued compliance enables the agency to extend housing assistance to more Filipino families.
