Authorities in Abu Dhabi responded early Thursday to a missile threat near Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD), with UAE air defense systems successfully intercepting an Iranian missile, the Abu Dhabi Media Office confirmed.
The interception caused minor damage in the area, and no injuries were reported. Authorities urged the public to rely solely on official sources for updates and to avoid spreading unverified information.
According to the UAE Ministry of Defence, the alert came around 4:30 a.m. following incoming missile and drone threats. Residents across the country reported loud sounds, which the ministry confirmed were from successful interceptions.
The ministry issued emergency guidance for residents: seek immediate shelter, prioritize safety over filming, avoid stopping on roads, stay indoors until an official ‘all clear,’ use emergency hotlines responsibly, and share information only from verified sources.
