Senator-elect Francis Escudero is also eyeing the senate presidency according to his fellow senator-elect Raffy Tulfo.
In an interview with CNN Philippines, Tulfo said that he spoke with Escudero and the Sorsogon governor said that he is considering the upper chamber’s top post.

“Kagabi kinausap ko si Chiz Escudero, tinanong ko siya kung meron na rin ba siyang balak, sabi niya pinagiisipan niya,” Tulfo said.
The broadcaster turned lawmaker also revealed that a number of senators also spoke to him regarding the senate presidency.
“Si Senator Cynthia Villar, Migz Zubiri. In fact, tumawag na rin sa akin si Senator Imee Marcos,” Tulfo said.

When asked about who he will support for the senate presidency, Tulfo said he is still studying the possible contenders.
“Simple lang yung senate president na sa tingin ko ay walang business interest na po-protektahan,” he said.
