Presidential candidate and son of late dictator Bongbong Marcos is hoping to win the votes of the overseas Filipino workers again, a repeat of the 2016 scenario.

Marcos has recently held a ‘miting de avance’ with OFWs where most of the attendees joined via teleconference.

“I sincerely hope so. We’re not confident of anything until we actually get it. So but yes, of course, we are working hard to get their support,” Marcos said in an interview with reporters.

Marcos said that there should be retraining programs for OFWs and livelihood programs for those who want to return and stay in the Philippines for good.

Vice Presidential candidate Sara Duterte also vowed to ensure the safety and welfare of OFWs.
