Locsin: Poland agrees to accept Filipinos without visas amid Ukraine crisis

Foreign Affairs Secretary Teddy Boy Locsin said that Poland has agreed to accept Filipinos even without visas.

In a series of tweets, Locsin said that the Embassy of the Philippines in Poland is on high alert amid the Ukraine and Russia crisis.

The Embassy in Warsaw has jurisdiction in Ukraine.

“Warsaw PE’s (Philippine Embassy) been on high alert; repatriated a few; Poland finally agreed to let ours in sans EU visas; not heard anything from Russia on our request re: its closest border,” Locsin said in a tweet.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has announced that Russia launched its full-scale invasion of the Eastern European Country.

Ukraine said that it will defend itself from Russian attacks.

“Putin has just launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Peaceful Ukrainian cities are under strikes. This is a war of aggression. Ukraine will defend itself and will win. The world can and must stop Putin. The time to act is now,” Ukraine Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said in a tweet.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has authorized a “special military operation” in eastern Ukraine while Putin was attending the UN Security Council meeting.

“In the name of humanity bring your troops back to Russia. In the name of humanity, do not allow a war to start in Europe which could be the worst war since the beginning of the century with consequences not only devastating for Ukraine, not only tragic for the Russian Federation but with an impact cannot even foresee,” UN chief Antonio Guterres told Putin.
