Germany to hire Pinoy skilled workers

Germany is set to open its labor force for Filipino skilled workers, according to the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).

POEA Administrator Bernard Olalia on Wednesday said the Philippines will soon deploy skilled workers to the European country.

The Philippines, together with Germany, have created a technical working group for skilled workers under the Triple Win Agreement, GMA News reported.

Germany will follow the framework that the Philippines used to deploy nurses.

“Kaya ngayon, pa-pattern nila ‘yung ating framework for the deployment of nurses doon sa other skills nila,” Olalia explained.

The technical working group is currently studying the possible qualifications of skilled workers.

Among the sectors that will open opportunites are the medical feild, technology, IT, accountancy, and engineering.

The POEA said it will announce an advisory on how and when to apply when the agreement is finalized.

The agency also advised job-seekers to apply at POEA as this is government to government recruitment program.

Meanwhile, aspiring job seekers are encouraged to monitor www.poea.gov.ph. for other job opportunities and be cautious about illegal recruiters. (RA)
