Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Danilo “Danny” Lim has died. He was 65.
“The Palace expresses its deep condolences to the family, loved ones and colleagues of MMDA Chairman Danilo Lim who died before 8AM this morning at the age of 65,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a statement.
Lim joined the Duterte administration as among the retired generals serving the cabinet.
“MMDA Chair Lim served the Duterte Administration with professionalism, competence and integrity. He would be dearly missed,” Roque said.
The cause of his death has not been disclosed.
Lim, however, revealed on December 29 that he was diagnosed with the coronavirus disease or COVID-19.
“Nananatiling mild ang aking mga sintomas at sinusunod ko ang payo ng aming doktor para maalagaan ko ang aking kalusugan ngayon. I will continue to self-isolate for now. Agad ko rin sinabihan ang lahat ng mga taong may close contact sa akin nitong nakaraang linggo na i-monitor ang kanilang mga sarili at mag self-isolate na nang 14 days,” Lim said in a Facebook post.
Lim served as Chairman of MMDA from 2017 until his death.
