Individuals showing no signs or symptoms of the coronavirus disease in Abu Dhabi who wish to get tested should now only pay a maximum of AED250 for their test.
In a circular from Abu Dhabi’s Department of Health (DoH) it indicates that the cost for COVID-19 tests for asymptomatic individuals has been updated with reduced rates from its initial pricing of AED370.
“Please note that the cost of the PCR test is updated and shall be covered by the individual directly, with a maximum amount of Dh250 for cases with no symptoms or medical indication for testing,” said the statement, as per a report from Khaleej Times.

UAE residents and citizens who exhibit clear COVID-19 symptoms such as high fever, loss in their sense of smell and/or taste, shortness of breath and more, along with individuals classified under vulnerable groups will get tested for free.
Following the new measure, several hospitals have reduced their COVID-19 test. VPS Healthcare Hospitals group, which runs Lifeline Hospital, Medeor Hospital, Lifecare Hospital, and Burjeel Hospitals now only charges AED200 for nose swab tests with results available from 24-48 hours. The group’s AED250 option provides results within 12 hours.
Meanwhile, in other emirates, several hospitals have also followed the trend of lowered pricing for COVID-19 tests. Reports from Khaleej Times state that Aster Clinics in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah now only charge nose swab tests for AED299.
