UAE residents and citizens who exhibit clear COVID-19 symptoms such as high fever, loss in their sense of smell and/or taste, shortness of breath and more, along with individuals classified under vulnerable groups will get tested for free.

Following the new measure, several hospitals have reduced their COVID-19 test. VPS Healthcare Hospitals group, which runs Lifeline Hospital, Medeor Hospital, Lifecare Hospital, and Burjeel Hospitals now only charges AED200 for nose swab tests with results available from 24-48 hours. The group’s AED250 option provides results within 12 hours.

Meanwhile, in other emirates, several hospitals have also followed the trend of lowered pricing for COVID-19 tests. Reports from Khaleej Times state that Aster Clinics in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah now only charge nose swab tests for AED299.
