An Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia has sought help after her male employer tried to rape her a number of time.
Rizalyn Barandino told a TV show in the Philippines that she tried asking her agency’s help because she was afraid of telling her female employer about her husband’s rape attempts. She feared the wife will only dismiss her claims and side with her husband.
Ironically, Barandino alleged that her placement agency brought her back to her employer, saying they were duty-bound by her employment contract to so.
“Ibinalik po nila ako dito sa amo ko, gustong gusto ko na po umuwi sa Pilipinas,” Barandino told the show, popular for its focus on the bereaved.
The TV show’s host assured the OFW that she will be pulled out from her employers’ house and the agency that brought her back despite complaints will be liable.
The OFW also revealed that she was even forced to buy her plane tickets by here recruitment agency because she refused to follow their orders.
The Philippine counterpart of Barandino’s agency refused to take Tulfo’s calls.
