Khalid Al Ameri, one of the UAE’s biggest Emirati social media influencers with over 2 million followers across all of his social media channels, personally thanked Filipinos for being a huge part of the success of his 2018 as he managed to create many inspiring videos focusing on the Filipino way of life, among others.

In his video titled “Our Crazy Year” posted January 2, Al Ameri expressed his words of gratitude towards all of the communities within the UAE that didn’t only inspire fellow UAE citizens and expats, it also motivated diverse community groups to take action and be involved with noble causes.

“2018 was one of the greatest years of my life. It was also one of the hardest. I want to take you back on some of the work that we did that I am most proud of,” shared Al Ameri as he invited and welcomed viewers towards a quick glimpse of his vlogs for 2018.

Becoming Pinoy

Within 2018, Khalid managed to create hundreds of videos on different social aspects of the UAE. One of his highlights was when he received the 2018 TFT Social Media Personality of the Year during The Filipino Times Awards.

He even staunchly defended the rights of OFWs in the UAE following a controversial post by another famous blogger outside the UAE. He even shared a heartwarming video as he personally visited Filipino and other expats who work as nannies to recognize the important work that they are doing for the UAE.

The main highlight of Al Ameri’s Pinoy experience was when he flew to the Philippines to enjoy a day of living there. His video, entitled “Why do Filipino Smile?” has amassed over 8 million views on Facebook to date, and the numbers are still growing.

Al Ameri also managed to promote the UAE as a country that promotes tolerance with “When Muslims celebrate Christmas”. He also generated awareness for the work done by the United Nations, the action and rescue operations of the Animal Welfare, insights Autism, and even shared light on lives of single moms!

“But what is all this to say? It’s that 2018 was one of the best years of my life. It was one of the hardest years of my life and it was one of the most meaningful years of my life… because of all of you who connect with these videos and these stories every single day. It is one of the greatest privileges and honors of my life,” said Al Ameri.

He ended his video with a promise to create more engaging videos that connect with Filipinos and his entire audience for 2019 and the years to come: “And for 2019, I promise to do better, I promise to work harder, and I promise to continue making every single one of you proud. Wishing you all a Happy New Year to better videos, to stories that connect us all.”
