VIRAL: American soldier sings OPM songs

A series of videos of an American soldier who was deployed in South Korea has been making the rounds online because of his impressive covers of Filipino songs.

Facebook user CJ Ortega uploaded the videos on the said social media website and has since gained millions of views.

The singing soldier in the video was identified as Estephan Coleman.

Ortega, who works at the burger place where Coleman usually eats, took the video as it was an “not an everyday scene” to see an American soldier belting his heart out to Filipino songs.

In the said videos, Coleman is seen singing Sam Concepion’s version of “Mahal Na Mahal” and Michael Pangilinan’s “Bakit Ba Ikaw?”

Aside from singing, it seems like Coleman is also familiar with a few Filipino words as seen in the videos.

According to a report on GMA News, Coleman learned how to sing Filipino songs because of his Filipino friends. He also said that the Philippines is close to his heart.
