Ramadan is a month of solemnity when everyone dedicates a time for prayer and fasting. However, aside from the religious aspect of the holy month of Ramadan, many other things happen during this time of year. For example –retail sales.

Here are some sales this holy month of Ramadan that you should not miss.

Ramadan Nights 2018

The mega sale in Sharjah which offers up to 80% discount on several items kicks off today, May 31.

Ramadan Nights 2018, which will be held at the Expo Centre in Sharjah from May 31 to June 16, will offer a shopping place for residents and visitors who are celebrating the Ramadan season, reported Gulf News.

It will offer big discount on gadgets, appliances, clothes, perfumes, jewellry, and many other items.

Over 100 brands will also be present at the bazaar, some of which are Guess, Gant, Nine West, Naturalizer, Aigner, Skechers, Kenneth Cole M&Co, Escada, Asics, La Senza, Timberland, US Polo Assn, Bosch, Jumbo Electronics, Carrefour, Grand Stores and BHS, and many others.

Local Supermarkets

The Ministry of Economy announced that around 600 supermarkets in the UAE will be offering discounts of up to 50 per cent for more than 10,000 products during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Dr Hashim Al Nuaimi, Director of Consumer Protection at the Ministry, said a slew of cooperatives and supermarkets in the UAE will offer discounts ranging from 25 to 50 per cent, reported Gulf News.

The Ministry of Economy also met with suppliers and traders to ensure the sale will be implemented smoothly.

Union Coop

Another sale awaits consumers after Union Coop announced it will unveil its biggest sale for the Ramadan season.

The sale will cover both food and non-food products and prices are set to be slashed by up to 75 per cent.

During a press conference on Monday, May 7, Khalid Humaid bin Diban Al Falasi, CEO of Union Coop said the sale will cover more than 15,000 products.

Three of their branches, Umm Suqeim, Wasel and Al Twar, will also operate for 24 hours in anticipation of the influx of shoppers.

Meanwhile, Fresh Category Trade Dept. Manager at Union Coop Yaqoob Al Baloushi announced that the annual Ramadan Basket will not be available this year. The basket includes Ramadan essentials that customers can easily purchase.

Customers, instead, will have the liberty to create their own Ramadan package.

UAE Waterparks

The Atlantis Hotel, Laguna Waterpark, Legoland, Wild Wadi Waterpark, and Yas Waterworld are all offering discounts on their entrance fees. Check out the full article here.

Ramadan Big Bazaar

Ramadan Big Bazaar is back this year, starting from May 31 at the Sheikh Rashid Hall, Dubai World Trade Center. Operating from 3pm-1am until June 11, the bazaar will have free entrance for everyone.

Expecting a footfall of over 300,000 visitors over 12 days, the Ramadan Big Bazaar brings together retailers of various items which include garments, leather accessories, jewelry, perfumes, eyewear, watches, footwear, home décor, cosmetics, beauty products, food items, toys, travel and tourism products and much more.
