Construction work progress on world’s next tallest tower

The construction of the world’s next tallest tower is underway as workers finish one of its most integral structures.

The 450 skilled workers hired to construct the tower, who started working on the $1-billion building in September, have already finished construction of the concrete placement of the pile cap of the Dubai Creek Tower, reported Gulf News.

The pile cap is so huge that the cement used to construct it weighs the same as the CN Tower in Canada.

Despite the size and effort in constructing the pile cap, workers were able to finish it ahead of schedule.

Construction of the Dubai Creek Tower is expected to be completed by 2020. Once finished, it will become the tallest building in the world, taller than the Burj Khalifa which stands at 2,722 feet.

It will serve as the centerpiece of the Dubai Creek Harbour, which is located on the banks of the Dubai Creek.

The tower, designed by architect and engineer Santiago Calatrava Valls, will feature several decks including the Pinnacle Room and the VIP Observation Garden Decks.
