‘Walang paalam?’ Fashion designer surprised to see ‘missing gown’ on Miss Universe PH Gazini Ganados

A Filipino fashion designer was caught off guard when he saw online photos of one of his missing creations in 2015 being worn by Miss Universe PH 2019 Gazini Ganados.

Lesley Mobo who is now in London said in a now deleted Facebook post that he was frustrated seeing his missing dress again without proper credit on its creator or was not even asked by the beauty queen’s stylist to use it.

“What would you do if you find your missing archive dress suddenly being worn by a beauty queen and you’re not even aware of it… and not even credited? I think she looks good on it but could do with a bit of help,” Mobo said.

To the designer’s surprise, he also shared screenshots of his gown being sold online.

“OMG. Someone just sent this to me. Someone out there is letting or selling this gown? But with a retail price? How come? Hindi naman for sale ang damit? What website is this please! Can I buy it privately?” he wrote.

In a new post on Thursday. Mobo said that he had already talked with the designer and has accepted her apology.

Mobo said that he did not give the dress to the stylist as a gift.

“THE DRESS WAS NEVER GIVEN TO THE STYLIST AS A GIFT. The dress was lent to the stylist with the understanding that it will only be used for a fashion shoot in a magazine and that it will be returned after that shoot. The dress was lost in 2015 and I was told by the stylist who borrowed it from me in 2015 that she returned that dress to me already along with the other dresses she borrowed from me for her shoot in a magazine,” the designer wrote.

Mobo added that the stylist could’ve reached out to him if they were able to find the dress before using it.

“The stylist could have at least contacted me straight about the dress and returned it to me directly at hindi na sana nilagay sa rental website nya. But I had a conversation with that stylist already and she accepted she was at fault and I accepted her sorry,” he said.

The stylist has promised Mobo to return the dress.

Meanwhile, the designer clears Gazini from any involvement and wished her well in the upcoming Miss Universe pageant in 2020.
