Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds to shoot new movie in Abu Dhabi

Hollywood actor and Deadpool lead Ryan Reynolds is set to shoot his next movie, Six Underground, in Abu Dhabi this November.

One of the scenes to be shot in Abu Dhabi features a robot exploding over a sand dune, which UAE is known for. The production team is also expected to stay in the country for six months, reported The National.

Six Underground will be directed by Michael Bay, who is known for directing blockbuster hits such as the Transformers franchise and Pearl Harbour. Other cast members, meanwhile, include Dave Franco, Ben Hardy, Melanie Laurent, and Adria Arjona, among others.

The production of the film costs around $125 million (Dh460 million) and is Netflix’s highest spending in a movie. It is set for release in 2019.

This is not the first time that Reynolds had a connection with the UAE.

Earlier, as a part of Deadpool 2’s promotional campaign in UAE, a display was set up showing the “hero” seemingly doing a stunt in Dubai Mall.
