Janine Berdin reveals she almost ‘failed’ during Tawag ng Tanghalan grand finals

Sixteen-year-old singer from Cebu Janine Berdin shared a secret about her performance during the grand finals of It’s Showtime’s “Tawag ng Tanghalan Season 2” where she was hailed the grand winner.
Viewers of the ABS-CBN noontime show all over the world tuned in to watch the competition’s grand finals which took place on June 2 at the Aliw Theater.
Berdin definitely gave it her all, especially when she belted out Sampaguita’s “Nosi Balasi” and a medley of Bamboo’s hit songs.

However, a certain Macoy Infante noticed that there was something written on Berdin’s hands during her last performance.

“Dear Janine, gusto kong malaman ano ang nakasulat sa kamay mo,” Infante captioned a photo he uploaded on Twitter.

In an interview with MJ Felipe for ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol, Berdin explained the story behind the scribbles on her hands.
Berdin said that while many were cheering and rooting for her, she actually was nervous and she almost failed during the grand finals because she did not know the lyrics to her second song.

“Lyrics po ‘yon,” she said referring to the scribbles on her hands.
“Kasi ‘yung medley po, ‘yung Bamboo medley po hindi ko po masyado kabisado, pero hindi naman po ako nakatingin sa kamay ko dahil sa sobrang kaba,” she added.
Regardless, Berdin still impressed the judges and the audience gave her a standing ovation after her performance.

By the end of the show, Berdin garnered a total average score of 96.11% from the combined scores given by the judges, and text/online voters.
As part of her victory, Berdin won a vacation package from 2GO, a musical gadget package from JB Music, a negosyo package from Siomai House, television sets from HKTV, a management contract, a house and lot from Camella, and a trophy designed by Filipino visual artist Toym Imao, reported ABS-CBN.
