Aldub pair Maine Mendoza and Alden Richards got a shoutout during Wednesday’s episode of It’s Showtime.

During the “Taga Saan Ka?” segment of It’s Showtime, hosts Vhong Navarro and Billy Crawford were tasked to select a representative from the studio audience to join the segment.

Crawford found a contestant named Maine, similar to Maine Mendoza of AlDub who was made famous by Eat Bulaga, It’s Showtime’s rival show.

“Eksakto, Kuys [short for Kuya]! May bumisita sa atin, si Maine,” Crawford told Navarro.

Another host, Vice Ganda, responded with, “Welcome to Showtime, Maine!”

The contestant was asked to go on stage to dance as a part of the segment’s rules.

Karylle noted that it was “Maine’s” first time to be on the show, “O, ito na, first time niya sa Showtime!”

Navarro told Crawford to ask the contestant, “O, kamustahin mo naman si Alden!” As the audience laughed, Crawford responded with, “Hindi, ibang Maine ‘yon!”

Netizens have since reacted to the mention of the loveteam in the rival show.
