Actor Cogie Domingo arrested in drug bust

Actor and 90’s heartthrob Cogie Domingo was arrested in an anti-drug operation Friday morning, October 27.

Operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 4-A nabbed the actor in a buy bust-operation in Paranaque, past 12 midnight, PDEA Public Information Office Director Derrick Carreon confirmed to local reporters.

Authorities say the actor, who was with his wife—Ria Sacasas—inside an SUV, was caught red-handed after purchasing illegal drugs from an undercover PDEA operative.

His wife was neither arrested nor charged as it was only Domingo who made the drug purchase, according to PDEA.

Domingo initially left the showbiz industry in 2006, which fueled rumors of him suffering from abuse of illegal drugs.

Cogie 1The actor made a showbiz comeback in 2010 and admitted to have tried using drugs in the past.

“May na-try na ako pero hindi naman ako naging dependent,” he said in a Startalk interview, as quoted by PEP.

Domingo, 32m rose to fame as part of the 90’s teen series “Click”.

In 2000, he earned a number of Best Actor nominations as a drug addict son of Christopher de Leon and Lorna Tolentino in the 2000 movie “Yakapin Mo ang Umaga.”

Domingo was last seen on TV in the GMA primetime drama “Someone To Watch Over Me”.

He is currently detained at Camp Vicente Lim in Calamba, Laguna.
