A former overseas Filipino worker (OFW) in Camanjac, Negros Oriental was arrested in a buy-bust operation after storing 15 packs of illegal drugs amounting to Php885,000.
The City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) in Negros, the Regional Special Operations Group (RSOG-7), and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) apprehended former OFW Arniel Repe for possession of drugs, reported Negros Chronicle.
During the buy-bust operation, the authorities were able to recover the buy-bust money, 15 packs of illegal drugs, one mobile phone and one Honda XRM motorcycle.
Repe explained that he got the drugs from Consolacion, Cebu to Dumaguete City in Negros to carry them for distribution in a city fiesta. The former OFW said that he was only asked to carry the drugs.
The former OFW then refused to give further details on the crime.
