Filipina bags gold medals, beats own record in swimming event in Dubai

A Filipina athlete has bagged several gold medals, beating her own record in a swimming event in Dubai.

Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh snatched the gold medal and beat her personal swimming record after finishing the 200m butterfly event of the 2018 Hamilton Aquatics Winter Long Course Swimming Championships in 2 minutes 22.31 seconds.

She beat her previous record of 2 minutes 25.82 seconds during the 2018 Middle East Open Swimming Championship which was also held in Dubai, reported The Manila Times.

Aside from beating her own record, Majdeh also won three more gold medals in the100m butterfly (1:05.17), 400m Individual Medley (5:23.49) and 50m breaststroke (36.34) of the same event.

Philippine Swimming League (PSL) president Susan Papa said that she would not be surprised if Mojdeh makes it to the Olympics at a very young age because of her skills.

Bagging medals in swimming competitions is not a new feat for Mojdeh. In fact, she is the most bemedalled athlete in the 2018 Palarong Pambansa.
