In celebration of the Christmas season, Comedian Vice Ganda decided to give some gifts to a random tricycle driver to make the holidays extra special and memorable for him.
In an episode of the noontime show “It’s Showtime”, Vice Ganda, together with co-host Ryan Bang, walked around the streets outside of the ABS-CBN compound where they greeted fans and talked to some passers by.
At one point, Vice Ganda suddenly stepped inside of a tricycle and told the driver to drive him around the area. When they reached their stop, the comedian had a talk with the driver whose name was Roel.
Roel said that he did not expect that a celebrity like Vice Ganda would be riding his tricycle, but the host just said God has a plan on why they met that day.
The driver went on to tell stories about his family, his children, and his work as a tricycle driver.
But when Vice Ganda asked him what will make him happy this Christmas season, Roel gave a selfless answer and said that toys, like a doll and a bicycle, for his children, a pair of rubber shoes for his wife, and some food to serve to his family on Christmas day would be enough for him.
Vice Ganda then said that he will be giving him all of the things he mentioned in celebration of Christmas.
But the host said that Roel also deserves to have something for Christmas and asked him once again what will make him happy.
The tricycle driver said that a brand new motorcycle that can help his whole family.
Vice Ganda said that he will grant Roel’s wish and give him a new motorcycle.
“Tayong mga magkakapamilya, ramdam natin ang bawat isa. Ramdam natin ang saya ng bawat isa, ang lungkot… Ang paligid natin, ramdam na ramdam natin, alam namin ang mga pinagdadaanan niyo,” Vice Ganda told Roel.
“Hindi man namin kayo matulungan nang lubos, hangad namin ay kahit papaano ay mapagaan namin ang pakiramdam ninyo, ang sitwasyon ninyo sa araw-araw,” he said.
Vice Ganda added that he understands Roel’s situation since he experienced that before as well.
“At saka, alam na alam ko ‘yan, kasi nanggaling din naman ako d’yan. ‘Yung tatay ko, nag-drive din ng jeep dati, ‘yung nanay ko, nananahi. Alam na alam ko ‘yung mga issue ng nanay at tatay na tuwing darating ang Pasko. Masaya yon para sa lahat pero ‘yung ibang magulang, kinakabahan at ninenerbyos kasi alam nilang gusto nilang makapagpasaya ng mga mahal nila sa buhay pero hindi nila alam kung paano nila gagawin ito,” he said.
The comedian continued on by saying that he is hoping that the motorcycle will help Roel and his family.
