Filipinos in the United Arab Emirates will no longer be able to renew their passports through VFS Philippine ePassport Renewal Centres (PaRC) beginning July 1, after the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai announced the closure of the facilities.
In an advisory, Philippine authorities said the VFS PaRC centers at the World Trade Centre in Abu Dhabi and Wafi Mall in Dubai will cease operations on June 30, 2026.
Starting July 1, all passport applications and renewals will be processed exclusively by the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai.
The move marks the end of VFS-operated passport renewal services, which have served as a dedicated channel for Filipino residents in the UAE in recent years.
Filipinos who need to renew their passports or submit new applications will now have to secure appointments and transact directly with the Philippine diplomatic missions.
Authorities also urged applicants with passports already available for release at the VFS centers to claim their documents before June 30.
However, the embassy and consulate assured the public that unclaimed passports will remain accessible after the closure.
“All unclaimed passports and those processed by VFS PaRC–Abu Dhabi or Dubai until June 30, 2026 can be claimed from the embassy and consulate from July 1, 2026 onwards,” the advisory stated.
No reason was provided for the closure of the VFS passport renewal centers.
Filipinos in the UAE are advised to check the appointment and application procedures of the embassy and consulate before visiting for passport-related transactions.
