Presidential daughter Sara Duterte-Carpio will not be running for a seat in the Senate after filing her certificate of candidacy (CoC) on Monday, October 15, to seek reelection as Davao City’s mayor.
In a Pulse Asia survey released in September, the presidential daughter placed fifth among possible senatorial candidates.
Duterte-Carpio also assured the public that she will not be running for a Senate seat through substitution.
The presidential daughter said she will seek for a re-election to implement the infrastructure projects in the city, one of which is the Davao-Samal Bridge.
Meanwhile, the presidential daughter also revealed that she has asked her younger brother, Sebastian “Baste” Duterte, to run as vice-mayor. They are still, however, waiting for comment from President Rodrigo Duterte.
The president’s eldest son, resigned Vice Mayor Paolo “Pulong” Duterte, has also filed his candidacy as congressman for the city’s first district. Paolo Duterte will face his neighbor, Susana Uyanguren, who also filed her CoC for a congressional bid in the first district.
