Spouse to the Philippine Ambassador to the UAE, Mme Yoko Ramos-Vingno is the Guest of Honor at the culmination of the Sewing and Fashion Design training for the wards at the Philippine Embassy with Vice Consul Von Ryan Pangwi, Labor Attaché Atty. Ophelia Almenario, Assistant Labor Attaches Jay Jasper Javines and Jesus Vicente Magsaysay, and Welfare Officers Marites Ramos, and Ron Lionel Bartolome. Together with them are TFT Fashion Designer of the Year Aldwin Jlo Ornopia, president of United Cebuanos UAE – Abu Dhabi chapter and Bella Donna CEO, Jose Allen Villena who both spearheaded the training sessions.
A ceremony was held for a total of 15 wards who graduated with flying colors, 6 of which have shown exemplary work and were awarded their very own sewing machines. The graduates wore the dresses they created on the day of graduation.
These courses are held by the POLO-OWWA for the wards as they aim to hone their skills before they go back to the Philippines. The skills taught to the wards will help them begin their own businesses and/or find a new line of work when they get home.
