Former nurse in Saudi books new job, wins house and lot in job fair

A former overseas Filipina worker (OFW) in Saudi Arabia brought home good news to her family after attending a job fair.

Joyce Mae Ridual, a 25-year-old former OFW, attended the Cordillera Department of Labor and Employment Labor Day Job Fair on Tuesday, May 1, to apply for a job as per the request of her mother, reported ABS-CBN.

To her surprise, an employer which seeks registered nurses to work overseas approved her application, saying her experience as a nurse in a hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for two years made her qualified for the job.

Unbeknownst to Ridual, a Pag-IBIG Fund-sponsored raffle draw would happen at the end of the job fair. The lucky winner would win a house and lot.

A few minutes into the draw, Ridual’s raffle ticket number was called.

“Nung tinawag na iyung number, nagulat na lang po ako at saka iniisip ko po kanina, hindi ko ata nasulatan yung ticket, iyun pala wala palang name, number lang pala. Nung inaanounce na yung number ko, hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala,” she said.

Ridual then returned home with a new job, plus a new house and lot. A sudden twist of life indeed!
