A 79-year-old Filipina who went missing after a massive fire broke out in West London on June 14 is now presumed dead.
Ligaya Moore, a tenant at the 24-story Grenfell Tower, and 27 other missing individuals have now been tagged as casualties in the incident.
“The Embassy has the sad task to announce that despite our diligent search made in coordination with the Metropolitan Police and the Filipino community in London, Mrs. Ligaya Moore has not been found. She has now been included by the MetPolice as among those presumed to have perished in the Grenfell Tower tragedy,” the Philippine Embassy in the United Kingdom said in a statement.
Moore’s family has now been informed, the embassy added.
BBC reported that death toll is still expected to increase from 58, while 19 victims are currently receiving medical treatments.
Investigation in the inferno, which was described by authorities as “a major incident”, is still on-going.
