The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah is still registering undocumented and overstaying Filipinos in the kingdom for the amnesty offered by the Saudi government.
The consulate reminded those who want to avail of the amnesty have only until June 24 to register.
“Time is running out. Those who want to avail of the amnesty must register now in order to have enough time to schedule them for processing of their exit visa at the deportation center in Shumaysi,” Gmanetwork.com quoted Consul RJ Sumague as saying.
Around 6,300 undocumented OFWs have registered since March and the consulate referred 5,500 of them to deportation the center.
Around 3, 573 exit visas were issued while the flight home of 2,120 undocumented Filipinos were sponsored by the Saudi government, according to Sumague.
