Dubai sends WHO medical aid to displaced communities in Lebanon

Dubai Humanitarian has facilitated the dispatch of emergency medical assistance from the World Health Organization (WHO) to support communities displaced by the ongoing conflict in Lebanon.

Under the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, a land convoy carrying 21.5 metric tonnes of essential medical supplies departed Dubai on March 20, 2026.

The shipment, transported through a convoy of four trucks, is expected to arrive in Lebanon within the next few days.

According to Dubai Humanitarian, the cargo includes medicines and other critical health supplies intended to support medical services for displaced populations and reinforce ongoing relief operations in crisis-affected areas.

Dubai Humanitarian CEO and Board Member Giuseppe Saba said the operation reflects the organization’s continued commitment to ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of life-saving assistance to communities affected by emergencies.

He said the mission underscores the strength of Dubai Humanitarian’s network of partners and its capacity to adapt quickly to evolving humanitarian challenges.

The transport costs for the shipment were covered by the Global Humanitarian Impact Fund (GHIF).

Dubai Humanitarian said it continues to leverage strategic partnerships, regional connectivity, and operational readiness to support global emergency response efforts and assist people in need.
