The Philippine Department of Education (DepEd) has said that vaccination is not required for students for physical classes in the Philippines.
The DepEd however advised pupils to get vaccinated while teachers and other school staff handling face-to-face classes must be fully vaccinated.
These revised guidelines will also reduce conditions for schools under alert levels 1 and 2 for physical classes and by March 22, 10,206 public and private schools have been permitted for in-person classes at the basic education level.

As many as 14,396 public and private schools with 2.6 million learners have been nominated for the progressive expansion phase of in-person classes authorizing them to include other grades on adherence to health and safety measures.
Education Assistant Secretary Malcolm Garma said at a press briefing that nominated schools have qualified in the school safety assessment tool (SSAT).
